All he says are five simple words, "...and BOOM goes the dynamite." Well that's what I wanted to say at the end of my presentation yesterday in Infant and Toddler because it was basically as epic as the previous story. We rocked that sucker and no one can deny it was pretty off the heezy. (I'm bringing it back...maybe) But yeah, you should have been there. Moving on to something else ORU related, I've recently been told what the #neverheardatORU hashtag really means and I must give credit to a few tweets that have been posted because I laughed out loud.

Just search this on Twitter. text-align: center;">
Tonight was the annual Honors Program "Masquerade." While not many people kept masks on the whole night, others did not bring one at all. Daniel and I were two of these people without masks. I mean seriously, why hide our faces? If you got it, flaunt it. Well not all of it. I must say, sometimes I look more Japanese than Daniel. My eyes get all squinty. The party was great but my one issue was the music. It was almost the EXACT playlist they used last year. Only a few songs were on the current top 40. One of the songs played was Beyonce's hit "Single Ladies." Question: do girls who are in relationships but not engaged sing and dance to this? Because technically they don't have a ring. Or because she is in a relationship, does she sing it in the hopes that her significant other will take a hint? I sang and danced to it anyway, regardless of the prior two ideas, because I like the song and wanted to shake it but it crossed my mind as I twisted my hands back and forth like the music video....moving on. The food looked good and the movie choices were excellent: Tangled and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I enjoyed watching everyone boogie on the dance floor and loved dancing myself. I've always loved to dance and if I went clubbing, I'd rock at it. Alas, clubs are scary. SPEAKING OF clubs, it's time for....Downton AbbAY! (yes I know it's spelled abbey but its so much MORE fun to say it abbAY like a gangster) I will be accompanied by Jessica and Erin (and Susann but only in spirit because she's in Florida) Words cannot express my excitement at the prospect of new plot twists. Will Lady Mary and Matthew finally get together? Will the war end? Will Mrs. Crawley stop being such a blech? We're sure to find out these things and much more in the fourth episode of season two. Can you say addicted? If you haven't watched, you really ought to. Unless you're like my boyfriend who doesn't like shows placed in older days. meh. But it's better to give something a try than to shun it completely. (Unless it's harmful and Downton Abbey is NOT harmful)

Krumpin.

My Ladies

Craftin it UP. oh you know just decorated my language arts journal today with fabric and contact paper...something I have never done. My friend Susann is playing the part of Jesus. Each week at my school we have a hall meeting to discuss campus news and upcoming events. Sometimes we have themes for these meetings, as they get rather boring. This week's theme was "dress up as your favorite person or hero" Since Jesus was already taken, I decided the next best option was his mother. And so a miracle (idea) was born. hehe. We paraded around different floors in the tower and even acted out a few births. Needless to say, it was a very moving experience even though my legs are literally screaming at me. So I'm enrolled in weight training this semester and every week I go to lift weights for my class...this gets kinda boring and redundant so today I decided to walk around the track and do a few lunges and kicks to work out my legs...BAD IDEA. Not only do my legs ache (even as I lie here and type this) they hurt when I try to walk down steps or sit down...I suppose this is all very good for me because it means my muscles are damaged and will grow back better but it hurts.......boohoo. Enough complaining. I wonder what it would be like to dress up everyday...like if we wore costumes to classes or on dates. We read a book in Children's Lit about a little pig who did such a thing. Can you imagine the creativity that would have to be involved in such a feat? Speaking of feat...two words: DOWNTON ABBEY. OMG I'm going out of my mind. The newest episode came on last night and Susann, Erin, and I all piled up in Susann's bed and watched the second episode of the second season....then Susann and I piled up in my bed and watched the third and most recent episode. We were seriously screaming by the end. It was incredible, unbelievable, and absolutely amazing. Now that the war has started, the plot is taking some very interested turns. All I can say is I hope that it never ends and I'm a true fan of Downton AbbAY to the end!...of the series...then I'll have to find something else to watch.

Hall meeting...

The theme for hall meeting was dress as your hero...Jesus was taken so I took the next best person...or one of them...<div class="separator"style="clear: both; It's 1:15 and I just curled a little bit of my hair and before that I tried a messy undo. Girls, you will understand this and I wasn't tired when I started to figure out what to wear tomorrow but now as I write my eyes are getting droopy...Daniel is in Virginia and I'm so glad he made it there safely. The South has been getting some bad weather and it's supposed to continue tomorrow. This is random, but did you know that on the night that President Lincoln was assassinated, there were supposed to be two other assassination attempts? Yep, that's right. Vice President Jackson and Secretary of State William Seward were both targets in the plot of John Wilkes Booth. The man who was to kill the VP decided to neglect his assignment at the last minute and Mr. Seward was attacked but not killed. I never knew this but I'm reading a book for Children's Lit called Chasing Lincoln's Killer by James L. Swanson and am learning so many new things about that horrendous ordeal. So far the books that I have read for this class have been very good. One of them entitled Moon Dancer by Margaret I. Rostkowski was about this girl who goes on a camping trip with her sister, cousin, and another guy. Confession: I picked this book because I thought it would have a little romance in it and I'm a sucker for fiction crushes. Anyways, what I got out of the book was more than just a cute, coming of age story about a high school girl. I came away feeling as though I haven't been living each of my days to the fullest. Yes, it's cliche but I really did think about it for a little bit. Then I saw this pin on Pinterest that asked something along the lines of what I would do or the chances I would take if there was no possibility of failure. Have you ever asked yourself that question? What would you do? I'm asking myself even now. I am not completely sure what I would do; I'd probably end up doing something with my voice as it has been so long since I've been on stage, doing solo stuff but what else would I chance? And would it be called "taking a chance" if there was no way I could fail? I don't think I would go extreme and sky dive or bungee jump. I've no desire for that kind of thrill. But I would challenge each of you to take a few minutes and think about what you would do. Feel free to comment with your answer or simply keep it to yourself. It's just something to think about.

Glitter Wand

I think sometimes we get so tied up in what we want to happen and the what ifs of life that we forget to breathe and let things take their natural course. I witnessed this recently and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of the situation...random way to begin this post but I thought I would share since I'm kind of freaking out, in a good way. In other news, Daniel and I are still debating the hen story and discussed naming her Pinky today. I came up with that one and I think Daniel also suggested Sally...The sequel to the epic ____ the Glitter Hen will be ____ the Glitter Hen and the Corn Wand. (p.s. #thatawkwardmoment when you type g instead of d) Anyways, yeah the Corn Wand originated with the same brainwaves that brought you the first tale. Me, vying to be the center of attention (as always) insisted on playing with my food while at lunch; while doing this I managed to gingerly stab a piece of corn with my spoon then commenced to wave it around like a queen does her scepter or other wielding type object. I soon grew tired of the "Corn Wand," however, Daniel had come up with the sequel's title. We don't know the story...just what it will be called. You ever have those days? You know, the ones when you feel like a total boss walking down the street or think Dang, I look good. Well, today wasn't exactly one of those days for me BUT I still looked fly as usual. Psychologically, I must have been having a boss day because this is what I doodled on my Math Concepts notes...

As you might have noticed, I erased a word above the two names...it said "Boss." Somehow it just didn't fit with the whole royal and regal thing. I've been watching a LOT of Downton Abbey lately so I'm rather partial to "Lady Victoria" like "Lady Mary" or "Lady Sibyl" in the series but NOT "Lady Edith" since she's evil and Jessica, Erin, and Susann and I have agreed to really, strongly dislike her. Don't even get me started on the issues in that mini-drama. But SO. GOOD. Pretty sure it's better than the sorry excuse for ice cream called Skinny Cow. They are ice cream sandwiches that I bought...somehow, as I told my sweet Daniel, the sweet treat doesn't taste as good when I know its better for me...does that seem to happen to anyone else?

Of chickens and pigs.

______ the Glitter Hen...this is the children's book that Daniel Tsubota wants to write. It all started at lunch when one of my friends said that sometimes my laughs remind her of a clucking hen. Yes, you heard right...a hen. And it just went downhill from there. Soon Daniel had the brilliant idea that this hen had to be the protagonist in his first and hopefully last children's book. ____ the Glitter Hen (we haven't decided on a name yet would be a normal hen on a farm. She isn't very popular but one day she accidentally gets makeup spilled on her. Everyone notices her and she instantly becomes Ms. Popularity. (This reminds me of "Popular" from Wicked...yes, and now I want to sing it) However, somehow the makeup gets washed off and everyone seems to forget about her except _____ the pig. (We also don't have a name for him) Turns out he liked _____ the Glitter Hen even before she changed. Yay, the end. The only thing that throws me is the reality that a hen and a pig could never be together because of obvious reasons...however, Daniel thinks they can and told me to "Imagine the delicious babies." Yes, while I am a fan of both chicken and bacon....I'm just not seeing it. BUT I still like the story and hope to find names for the Glitter Hen and the pig. I still like the idea of Victoria, the Glitter Hen. yes? yes.
